- Choose the place for dictionary base and copy its files there. Example:
# in directiry with *_words* files.
mkdir /usr/local/lib/enrus
cp * /usr/local/lib/enrus/
(Note: if you create directory ~/.enrus , no other directory will be used by
dictionary tools, and environment variable ENRUS_DICT will be ignored, but you
still need string in /etc/bashrc (see below). This type of installation is used
for dictionary base creation and modifying.)
- Set ENRUS_DICT environment variable equal to path to your dictionary base,
it is necessary if you want use dictionary tool from command line and use Tk
interface without "--base" argument.
- Set ENRUS_OUTPUT environment variable (defines output mode).
Example :
#strings in /etc/profile.d/enrus.sh:
export ENRUS_DICT=/usr/local/lib/enrus
if [ $DISPLAY ] ; then
export ENRUS_OUTPUT=X
else
export ENRUS_OUTPUT=plain
fi
#strings in /etc/bashrc:
export ENRUS_DICT
export ENRUS_OUTPUT
NB: ENRUS_DICT path must not contain any symbols those have a special
meaning:
( < > & # | ? * [ ] { } \ ~ . " ' space)
- Note: you can make Tk interface set ENRUS_DICT inside itself, this way you
can use more than one dictionary base simultaneously:
$ enrus --base /usr/local/lib/enrus &
